At Spectacle Warehouse we are very proud of our on site laboratory. With our onsite laboratory we are able to provide certain products within 24 hours. You can have a cup of coffee in our waiting area while you wait for your spectacles. These products include

2. Single vision antireflective coated lenses

3. Single vision blue block coated lenses

4. CFL multifocal lenses

5. CFL multifocal “smart shades”

The advantages of having a onsite laboratory include quicker turnaround time for our patients, saving costs as we fit the lenses ourself and being able to do repairs.

CFL (continuos focal lens) is a type of multifocal lens that we produce locally in our own laboratory, “smart shades” refers to our type of darkening or transitions we put on our multifocal lenses. Two colour options are available in either brown or grey transitions.

Smart shades

Most spectacle wearers are familiar with the hassles of dealing with the sun and therefore carry a pair of scripted sunglasses with them wherever they go switching back and forth as they move between indoors and outdoors. A better alternative is photo chromatic or transition lenses or as we call our transitions “smart shades”. These special lenses are light indoors but darken when you go into the sun.

1. They are convenient as you can where these lenses under most circumstances and only need one pair for both indoors and outdoors.

2. They offer continuous UV protection from harmful sun rays. 

3. You will never have to worry about forgetting your sunglasses at home.

4. They can save you money as you would only need one pair for both normal spectacles and sunglasses.
